In this article, we will learn how Evil Angels mislead people, so let’s get started
10. How do demons mislead people?
Angels use witchcraft to mislead people. Witchcraft means contact with demons, whether by a human being, a witch, or a sorcerer. We are commanded in the Bible to avoid anything related to witchcraft. (Galatians 5:19-21) Why? Just as a hunter sets various traps to catch animals, demons use different methods of witchcraft to control people.—See “Witchcraft.”

11. (a) What is astrology? (b) Why should we stay away from it?
One of the methods of witchcraft is astrology, that is, trying to know the future or some mystery with the help of demons. For this, some people look at the stars, read their hands or take out auspicious and inauspicious times. Many people feel that there is no danger in these things. But they are very dangerous. For example, the Bible tells us that demons have a close relationship with prophets. Acts 16:16-18 reports that a “demon prophet possessed a girl.” With his help, the girl “used to tell the future.” But later, when Paul casts out the demon, the girl loses her ability to foretell.
12. (a) Why is contact with the dead dangerous? (b) Why do God’s servants not share in witchcraft rituals?
Angels mislead people in another way. They want to assure us that we can talk to our loved ones who are no more. They want to make us believe their spirit leaves when our loved ones die, and they can talk to or harm us. Many people turn to someone who claims to talk to the dead. The person may say something interesting about the deceased friend or relative, even speaking in his voice. (1 Samuel 28:3-19) In addition, many funeral rituals are based on the belief that the soul lives on after a person dies. Some such customs are anniversary celebrations, offering sacrifices to the dead, widow practices, or sitting all night by the corpse. When a Christian refuses to share in these rituals, his family or community may abuse, insult, or break up with him. But Christians know that no spirit in man lives on even after death. It is impossible to talk to the dead, and they cannot harm us. (Psalm 115:17) So be careful. Never try to make contact with the dead or with demons. Do not take part in any occult rituals.—Read Deuteronomy 18:10, 11; Isaiah 8:19.
13. How do many who previously lived in fear of demons feel now?
Demons not only mislead people, but they also scare them. Today, Satan and his demons know that they have “very little time left” and that God will soon remove them from the earth. That’s why they are even more furious and have become very fierce. (Revelation 12:12, 17) There was a time when thousands lived in fear of these demons, but they no longer feared them. How did his fear go away?
14. How can we, like first-century Christians, be freed from the clutches of demons?
The Bible tells us how to break free from the clutches of demons and how to cope with them. For example, in ancient times, some people had contact with demons in a city called Ephesus. But after learning the Bible’s truth, they broke up with the demons. How were they able to do this? The Bible says, “Many people who were engaged in witchcraft brought their books and burned them in front of everyone.” (Acts 19:19) They wanted to become Christians, so they destroyed all the magic books. Similarly, those who want to serve Jehovah today need to do the same. They must destroy everything that has been linked to demons, such as books, magazines, horoscopes, movies, music, video games, and posters. Demons, sorcerers, and supernatural forces are all presented as though they are not a threat but very attractive. These also include the things people wear so that nothing bad will happen to them.—1 Corinthians 10:21.
15. What else do we require to do to face Satan and his demons?
When Christians burned magic publications in Ephesus, their fight with the angels did not finish. Some years later, Paul composed that their “fight” with “effective satanic forces” was still taking place. (Ephesians 6:12) Yes, the satanic forces were still attempting to damage them. So what else did they require to do? Paul told them, “Occupy the great shield of belief so that you will certainly be able to appease [or stop] all the flaming arrowheads of Satan.” (Ephesians 6:16) Belief protects us as a guard protects a soldier. If we make certain that Jehovah can protect us, we will certainly be able to withstand Satan and his devils.– Matthew 17:20.
16. Just how can we strengthen our belief in Jehovah?
Just how can we enhance our belief in Jehovah? We must review the Scriptures daily and build our count on the creator that he will certainly secure us. If we placed our total count on Jehovah, Satan and the satanic forces would not be able to do us any kind of injury.– 1 John 5:5.
17. What else must we do to protect ourselves from demons?
The Christians in Ephesus needed to take another step. They lived in a city where most people were engaged in witchcraft. So Paul told them, ‘Keep on praying at all times.’ (Ephesians 6:18) They were to pray to Jehovah at all times to protect them. Today, we, too, live in a world steeped in witchcraft. That’s why we, too, need to pray to Jehovah that he will protect us. We should use his name in prayer. (Read Proverbs 18:10.) If we keep on praying to Jehovah that he will save us from Satan, Jehovah will certainly hear our prayers.—Psalm 145:19; Matthew 6:13.
18 (a) Just how can we resist Satan as well as the devils? (b) What inquiry will be answered in the next phase?
a) We have absolutely nothing to fear from them. (Review James 4:7, 8.) The creator is extra powerful than the devils. He punished them in the days of Noah, as well. He will totally destroy them in the future. (Jude 6) Keep In Mind That we are not the only ones dealing with satanic forces. Jehovah protects us with his angels. (2 Kings 6:15 -17) We can be sure that Jehovah’s assistance can withstand Satan and his satanic forces.– 1 Peter 5:6, 7; 2 Peter 2:9.
b) Yet if Satan and also the satanic forces are triggering so much difficulty, why hasn’t God destroyed them yet? This question will certainly be addressed in the following chapter.
