The Charles Mockingbird population,
located on the islands of Champion and Gardner near Floreana is a survivor of Floreana’s main population. Floreana is the first island to have a human population. The Mockingbirds were eventually extinct.
The most common and easily distinguishable of the four Mockingbird species are the Galapagos Mockingbird (and Hood Mockingbird). Although there are some differences in their plumage, the most noticeable physical difference is the beak. The Hood Mockingbird’s beak is longer and more curved than that of the Galapagos Mockingbirds.
